ABOUT THE PLANT
The Sunflower is a tall, stately ancient plant native to the United States. The seeds of the Sunflower yield a lightly textured, oleic acid-rich emollient oil, with large amounts of Vitamins A, D, and E, lecithin and unsaturated fatty acids, making it perfect for delicate facial skin. The seed oil is classified as anti-inflammatory, emollient, conditioning, nourishing, and moisturizing.
Helianthus, or sunflower, is a genus of plants comprising about 70 species in the family Asteraeae. The genus is one of many in the Asteraceae family that are known as sunflowers. The domesticated sunflower, H. annuus, is the most familiar species.
ABOUT THE OIL
The oil from sunflower seeds resembles that of Safflower oil, to which it is related.
